Every child deserves the best possible start in life.
At The Kids Bank HQ, we believe that something no longer needed by one family can become a lifeline for another. Every coat, cot, toy, buggy, school uniform and book donated to us has the power to bring comfort, dignity and hope to a child in need.
Since opening our doors, we have supported thousands of local families by providing essential items during some of life's most challenging moments. This would not be possible without the kindness and generosity of our incredible community, local businesses and valued partners, including Lakeside Shopping Centre, who continue to stand alongside us in supporting local children and families.
Together, we are creating a cycle of kindness - giving children's essentials a second life, reducing waste and ensuring that good-quality items continue to make a difference long after they have been outgrown.
We are proud to serve our community from our hubs at Marks Gate Family Hub in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, Bretons Manor in Rainham, and our charity shop, Kideco, located in Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock. These locations allow us to support even more families while creating welcoming spaces for our community to get involved.
People are at the heart of everything we do. We provide meaningful volunteering opportunities, work experience placements and a supportive environment where people can build confidence, develop new skills and gain valuable experience. We are especially passionate about creating opportunities for people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them develop skills, independence and confidence within a real working environment.
Our vision is simple - to continue supporting thousands more families, ensuring that no child goes without the essentials they need and that every act of kindness makes a lasting difference.

​​The Kids Bank HQ has been set up as a CIO (a charitable incorporated organisation) and our registered charity number is 1198462. Running as a CIO means that we have more flexibility in finding bases for us to run our charity from and overall makes it much easier for us to be able to continue to help those in need.

We have huge support from the local community when it comes to receiving donations. We are receiving thousands of donations on a weekly basis. These pre-loved children's items are then passed on to our referred families in need.

Due to the fantastic response, we have from the Community we are able to provide our families with everything they could need for their children aged 0-12 years. We have a huge stock of clothing, nappies, wipes, milk, toys, books, buggies, cots, hygiene items, and sanitary products. If we don't have it, we try our very best to source it, although sometimes it is not possible. Therefore, we are unable to guarantee all requests but know we will try our hardest.

In order for us to be able to ensure our support reaches the right people, we work on a referral basis only. This ensures all of the families we support, really need it. It also prevents any safeguarding issues.

We receive referrals daily from our partners Havering, Thurrock, Barking and Dagenham Council, The NHS, Food banks, Hestia, refuge UK, Project 17 and local schools.
