Christmas Give A Gift Appeal
What is the Christmas appeal?
We support children from struggling families with everyday essentials every day, and Christmas is no exception!
For the past 5 years we have been running our Christmas Appeal to ensure all local children receive a gift on Christmas morning.
What started with 300 children in 2021, increased to 500 in 2022, 800 in 2023, 2300 in 2024 and incredibly 2800 this year!
These are all children from local families who face waking to no presents this Christmas.
With the support of the local community, every year we have managed to meet the number of gifts required, however with the cost of living crisis we are worried this year we might not be able to meet our target, so any help is very much appreciated.
How does it work?
We work closely with local organisations and schools who pin point us local vulnerable children who face waking to no gift Christmas morning.
They then provide us with the age, gender and interests of any children requiring a gift.
This information is then placed on a star and hung from a tree in our Kideco Store in Lakeside Shopping Centre.
People are then welcome to come in and select as many starts as they want.
They can use the information on the star to purchase a gift for their selected child.
This needs to then be returned to us, or one of our drop off points, unwrapped by Sunday 30th November.
Rolls of wrapped paper are much appreciated also.

What if I cant get down to the store?
If you are unable to get down to our store, dont worry, you can still get involved.
You can contact our team on kideco@thekidsbankhq.org or 07379575792 and they will select tags for you and provide you with the information so you can purchase the gifts and drop to one of our drop off points above.
Alternatively you can make a donation and we will use the funds to purchase gifts on your behalf.

We are pleased to announce that we will partnering with the amazing All Hit Radio (formally the Time FM Team) with our Christmas Appeals from this year and the many years to come.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both parties involved and we are so excited to have found a team that are as passionate about this appeal and supporting local children as we are.
We look forward to working with them closely from now and in the future and cant wait to bring our joint effort together and bring a smile to the thousands of children in need of a gifts in the Havering, Thurrock, Essex. Barking and Dagenham areas.
